Inside My Inventory Book

Ok finally I think I have figured out how to do videos on my new computer. Here is the video inside my inventory book. Hopefully this helps you create a inventory book of your own. I love to use mine not only when I'm out at the store so I don't purchase what I already own but also when I'm designing a new project. I have all of my colors and textures right at my fingertips. I will probably make some adjustments to it by the time I update it in 6 mos. to a year but for now it suits my purposes very well.

I love this!!! You did a great job! I really need to do something like this, to many times I have either bought doubles, or not bought something because I couldn't remember what I have, or didn't have! I hope I can get started on something like this soon!!! Thanks!!!

Terrific, Christie! I did something similar but not nearly so elegant, with my dies and brass templates. As you know the trick is keeping it up-to-date! thanks for sharing!

Holy moly! That is THE ultimate inventory book. I love love love it. You did an amazing job. Can you tell me what the dimensions of your book are? I've been keeping mine in plastic page protectors until I found the right format and you just gave me the impetus to finally do it! Thanks so much for sharing!

This is great and thanks for sharing the files.

My favorite part (in lol mode) you mention the wish list and those are great - but the part that I RELATED to was when you pointed out one section (I think after Tim's stamps)and said something like - for the ones I need. I giggled and said to myself that is what I would say myself. TFS

Christie,
I carry a book inventory with me in my bag that has about 1300 titles and authors - I got tired of getting home with a new book only to find I already had it. I've done a similar book with my watercolor paints but never thought of doing it with my crafting supplies. I've got little lists with color samples of embossing powders, Stickles, Twinkling H2O's etc., even have the Distress Inks chart you provided and keep it in the storage drawer on top of the Distress Inks. I have a 3-ring binder where I stamp each stamp as I buy it and take it with me to stamping shows/conventions. NOW I'll have to start putting everything in one place. Thanks for the inspiration! You did a beautiful job! Linda DesGroseilliers

Gorgeous job and terrific project. I have the same problem of purchasing things I discover I already have -- I guess I really liked it! Lol! I've started making a book of my own. Thank you for the charts, and for sharing this very practical, but still gorgeous project. Spam? The very idea!! Ugh! You rock, Christie!

I just found you from a link on Just A Scrappin'. I watched this video and was mesmerized at how great the book is and what a great job you did on it!! I printed out a couple of the charts. They are 8.5"x11". It looks like your book is smaller than that. What size is your book? And, how did you shrink these documents to fit it? I'm an organizer by nature but haven't found a vehicle for my crafting items. This book is perfect except I'm going to leave out the stamps as I have well over 4,000 by now. :) Thanks again for the great video!

Oh, I totally LOVE your idea on right click and save the picture instead of stamps instead of stamping out each set you have... you just saved me lots of time to play!!!!
Thanks, Bonnie

Thanks for showing the inside of this nifty little book. I am so inspired to make one for myself. I took all of my stamp pad colors and stamped them on white and beige cardstock. Then when I am creating I take these pages out and match colors to the pictures that I am trying to scrap or the colors of cardstock that I want to use.

Christie, you've created a beautiful book! I can't wait to go back and read the rest of your blog! I have a question for you...where did you find the color coded charts for the distress stickles and distress embossing powders? I like that you have all the colors on the page. I can see myself using this as a reference book in addition to an inventory book also! Thanks so much for sharing a great project!

The purpose of having your own inventory book is to have something that keeps everything in order. It is especially useful if you've got lots of things to keep in track. Also, having it customized to your style adds more personality to it!
