The Little Things Count Card

Pin It! I made this card for a friend of mine who is going through a pretty rough time in her life. I made it by stamping the flowers and bird with embossing ink and using the clear embossing powder. This lets the color of the cardstock show through the stamped areas. I then ink over the card with my Distress inks using the sponge applicators. I made a faux scene with the green bottom, sky and sun colors. I then stamped the Tim Holtz stamp verse "it's the little things that make life big" over the image. I rounded the corners with my 1/4" corner chomper and I'm done. The inside I left blank so I can write a note to her.

This is really very pretty. It sounds like it would be relatively quick too. May have to give the technique a go.

Just shows that you do not have to do alot every time to get a beautiful peice of work! Have you tried the stamping with embossing ink and water yet? I did some tags yesterday and was really surprised at how well they came out. At first I questioned it but the longer they sat the more it transformed even after the heat gun... It seemed like it anyway... Nice Card! ~Sherry F.

Hello Christie

a simple, but nice card ! Nice colors and the technique with the embossing powder is perfect with this composition. The stamped images come out great.

What a beautiful card that will surely cheer your friend up. The embossing will add texture that can be rubbed as a reminder of your friendhip (yeah I'm a little sappy, but that's probably what I'd do!) Thanks for sharing!

Lovely, simple and perfect! I've never used Distress inks, and am curious about exactly what they are.
