Hi Christie,
Wow these were awesome tours of your craft space - I am drooling and wonder if you would ever want to leave your room, with a refrigerator and that beautiful ceiling. You and your husband did a super job - organizing, the sliding, hanging stuff, easy access, even room to add more things....I see you even had your cat helping lol. It was so cool that when I was watching, I would look at one of the drawers and say "open that one" and then you would do it so I could view the inside! You looked great too - love your top - recognized the brillance little ink pads....very clever kitchen makeover....can I come over and visit and spend the night in that room?! he he Thanks for the tour!! You look rested from your vacation... Mary RSD buddy

Wow! What an amazing craft space - you have got SO MUCH stuff! Almost every piece of art equipment I can think of. Just wondering why you haven't got a sink in there though, that would be really useful. Thanks so much for showing us though, got some great ideas for storing the small amount (relatively speaking) I have.

Donita June 14, 2010 at 4:21 AM

I am in awe! That is such a great workspace! I could get lost for days in there. lol I have but one question for you, Christie. - How did you get into crafting and what is your most favorite thing to do? Ok, 2 questions really! :)

This is one of the nicest rooms I have ever seen... I am currently redesigning my craft room, and so it is still a work in progress. I don't think it will come out as nice as yours... Thanks for sharing...

Here's the answer to heydoni's questions... I got into crafting very young as my Mom, Dad & Grandparents were always trying new things. I would help them alot and learned along the way. I had a great Home Ec teacher in high school and then went to college for Fashion Design & Merchandising. I can't say I have a single thing that is my favorite thing to do, I love to sew, quilt, scrapbook, other paper arts, make jewelry, home dec, I could just keep going on and on. I just wish there were more hours in the day and more bucks in my bank. Why couldn't have found a cheaper hobby, like napping? LOL.

scrapperbecka June 14, 2010 at 10:51 AM

Your room is awesome it looks like it took you forever to do.. Didn't you have a bigger room at some point, this one looks smaller then the last time you posted your room?

Thanks so much for the tour Christie! You are a lucky lady. I love my craft room and do not know now what I would do without it. If you have a moment maybe you can take a look at my craft room and give me a few tips on what i could do differently in there... (Keep in mind I live in a rental right now) You can find the album in Photos located at the PBS Swapper Site. Thanks Christie!!

TheScrapDiva June 14, 2010 at 4:23 PM

ok so when are you coming to my house to reorganize me. I thought I was pretty organized but watching these videos makes me want to redo my room for the 100th time. LOL

Unknown June 14, 2010 at 5:32 PM

All of the cabinets are from Kraftmaid cabinetry. You can view some of the cabinets online at http://kraftmaid.com , we purchased them through Home Depot and then installed them with the help of my Dad. :) I combined kitchen and office cabinetry to fulfill my needs of storage and counter heights. I like the height of the tall counter when I am doing standing work like cutting or layouts and low counters for other tasks. I also wanted to make the most of all wall space available so I hung some wall cabinets with as much storage possible.

To answer another question, I got my ink pad storage from Ebay. I bought it for $40 each (I have 2) each holds 72 ink pads. Each slot is wide enough to hold the average size ink pad or a distress pad and refill bottle. The seller is called Pastimeworks and ships from Brantford, Canada. The item is called Stampin Storage Rack Up to 72 Ink Pads Stamp Pad. It comes natural wood color and then I painted it white. Hope this helps

Beautiful room! I love how you have it organized. You have sooooooo much stuff! Do you buy supplies in bulk or thru a group buy? I was in a group buy club at one time but not anymore :-( If there is another one I'd love to hear about it! Thanks for sharing!

Christie,

I don't think I have EVER seen anything like this!!! :) Your craft room is absolutely AMAZING! That was so nice of you & your supportive hubby to take the time to share it with us.

What are the dimensions of your room? I think you are seriously better equipped than most of the local scrap stores I have been to! I'm disappointed to see that you couldn't fit it all in one room, though! That's quite a closet you have across the way. That's pretty crazy that you need it, though. ;)

Happy creating,

Jennifer

Thanks for the video. I have to say that I love the ironing board! I know all that scraping stuff & I comment on the board! But I sew Cricut Covers and am sewing as much as I scrap!

Wow is all I can say! You have a scrap studio/sewing studio to die for! It is amazing! I wish mine was that nice. Great video.

Christie- what an awesome room- I am so jealous! Did you install all the storage and cabinetry at one time? Or did you add storage as needed?

I'm impressed! What a great room! I love your slide out drawers. I was getting worried that you didn't have much paper until the end. I felt much better when I saw all your paper because that's what I have the most of! You've thought of everything!

Karen (TLgirl353) June 18, 2010 at 5:24 PM

Hi- I sent you an email reply to your email to me early yesterday, but not sure you received it. Maybe I ended up in your junk file????

What a wonderful hubby to let you get your creative mojo on! Your room is so amazing. Right now I have 1 wall in my bedroom and half another one with all my craft stuff and my hubby is about to kill me for having too much stuff. LOL! I keep telling him that a girl can never have too much of anything and he just shrugs and says ok.

I will keep your room in mind so that we we get out of the Air Force and can settle down and buy a permanent home I will know what I want and need to get. What an inspiration! Keep up the amazing work and can't wait to see what you create next.

Thanks for sharing your room! I am new veiwer of your blog, and I am in awe of your work. =)

Hi! I loved viewing your studio video's! It's lovely! I showed my husband and he said, "wow, someone really does have as many supplies as you"! I kept telling him I wasn't the only one! LOL! Everything you showed I kept saying I have that, I have those, etc. Except I don't have the Gypsy or the Slice. I do have 2 Cricuts though. I also just got the Cricut Cake too but haven't tried it yet. I love the stickles storage idea and am going to do that. I have a small bedroom for my studio and now will have another small bedroom since our daughter moved out. My dh and I will be organizing them this summer. I can't afford the beautiful cabinets you have right now, but they gave me some terrific organizational ideas! I love the hanging file bags for stickers. I'm going to do that and for rub ons too. Would you mind telling me the dimensions of your room? You can answer here or my email, which ever is easier for you. My email addy is moonmagick@ameritech.net Are you the Christy with the online store? If so, I have purchased some great items from you a few times! Well, thanks again for sharing!

Christie, Your room is fabulous! I am a long time crafter so much of my treasures are practically in every room in the house. Your hobbie room is something to strive for. Happy crafting and thanks for the inspiration.

Christie, what a wonderful craft studio. It looks like we share some of the same crafting interests. I too, have a great husband who supports my many hobbies. My craft room is small in comparison to yours and definitely not as well organized. I need some help there. What projects do you do with your Designer, and do you digitize your own designs? Would love to see some of your embroidery projects and quilts. Thanks for videoing your space. I'll have to show my husband so he'll know I not the only person with so much stash!!!

love2quilt95 November 21, 2010 at 3:45 AM

Christie, I forgot. Where did you find the interlocking cutting mat?

Oh my, what a wonderful craft studio!!! My friends always tease me for being so organized and now I see that I am not the only one. I recently moved to a new house after 17 years in my old one and now have a "blank slate" of a room to fill. I love the overall look and feel. I too sew, machine embroider and quilt BUT I'm also a bit of a compulsive remodeler and builder and so would love to see your "plans" if you have them. I see that you used Home Depot's Kraftmaid Cabinetry and mentioned the Container Store which I can peruse. Did you consider IKEA and then decide not to use them for any reason? Can you tell me where you purchased some of your other organizational finds, like the black pull out boxes? Thanks so much for sharing your room. Absolutely LOVE it!!! firstmatehook@yahoo.com

Kathleen February 15, 2011 at 12:18 AM

Is your room always so clean? You are THE most organized person I've ever seen! I want to be like you when I grow up haha Congrats on a great room, you are blessed.

Anonymous February 16, 2011 at 11:17 PM

Wonderful tour! Do you have a business? I just can't imagine what you use all of that for, I have honestly never seen anything like it, except at a craft store.

IT is just unbelievable, you have everything BUT the kitchen sink....I cannot imagine a studio without water to mess up, mix, clean etc etc BUt then I see everything is so clean..you must be not only very organized but very clean-no mess for this lady. Hats off.

Anonymous April 9, 2011 at 8:48 AM

Gorgeous room. I've scoured the universe looking to two of the things you've used for organization....the shallow embossing powder trays with lids and the very shallow, clear acrylic trays with clear round containers in them for small doo-dads. I'd love to know. Thanks for any light you can shed! vzenv6hs@comcast.net

I have watched these videos with my hubby time and time again and thankyou for these as we can now create a room based on this and come up with something that will suit my needs...We love what you have made!

It was so good to see you back in the emails, I was able to learn so much from your earlier teaching. I was curious why you seemed to just disappear. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Take care.
