I found yet another creative idea for your cuttlebug!!! Emboss metal and wrap your candle with it!!! I embossed them and then Alcohol inked them. I used the Quickuts Metal and my Cuttlebug folders. You can wrap your candle directly or wrap the glass jar that it comes in. I have posted a few ideas that I came up with see what you can do.

Why not make that guys room smell a little better too. Now you can made a candle look a little more manly so he won't mind it being in his man-cave or his even in the garage. :)
In photo below: Diamond Plate Cuttlebug embossing plateI punched the top of the metal on this one using the EK Success punch to create this impressive border. I think it turned out gorgeous.

That is a great idea! And with metal, you don't have to worry about it getting too hot and burning. Very cool.

love it! what kind of metal did you use? did you sand the surface after inking the metal?
ReplyDeleteThose candles are beautiful. You are so creative ... you never cease to amaze.
ReplyDeleteWhat adhesive did you use to adhere it to the glass? Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese are simply beautiful. Thanks so much for the idea.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!! Here is another idea and when I get a chance I will post it to show. But I took some beautiful gold thin metal I found at a scrap store, used alcohol ink from ranger in the colors of my kitchen, ran it through my embosser with a paisley print, it is beautiful, I than took the old ugly light switch cover off and covered it with my creation, it looks so pretty in my kitchen. I love ranger inks!! Have a great day.

Christie you are one heck of a caring and sharing person. I love your blog and check it out often.
ReplyDeleteChristie,
ReplyDeleteI have a question for you. Do you know what plates, a,b,c can be used to run a sizzix testures plate through a cuttlebug? I have tried the ones from the pdf you wrote for the regular sizzix plates and I can't get them through the machine. I just want to know so that if they cant be run through the cuttlebug, I can return them.
Beautiful! Love the idea of using metal but wonder if the heat would transfer through when the candle is burning. Which embossing folders did you use for the blue and red candles?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I've done some embossing on metal tape & colored it - but never thought to put it on candles! What fun!
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love this idea. Thank you for sharing!! What a great way to take an inexpensive candle and make it look good!!

ReplyDeleteHello Christie,
ReplyDeletethe candlewrappers are very very nice. My favorite is absolutely the last one with the punched top. This look great but I also like the embossing folder you used for this one and the color the metal has.
