Grunge Flower Tag

So I guess I'm into wings this week. This weeks Compendium of Curiosities challenge #13 was grunge flowers. I decided to cover mine with music print paper and cut with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Floral die cut in my Cuttlebug. I also embossed some of them with Tim's embossing folders and then ran the distress inks over the top lightly to bring out the color. I cut the Wings out of the Sizzix Angel Wings die. I also embossed the wings with Tim's embossing folder to create the veining in the wings. I was careful in the placement and flipped the second one to create a mirror image. Love It!!! I don't know how I could have created this look any other way. The embossing did take away from the music print but really added a lot of texture so I think the pay off was worth it.

I always love seeing what you create for the CC challenges! A few days ago I started at your blog and spent the entire afternoon hopping from one blog to another looking at all of the challenge entries. There is some AMAZING stuff being posted (yours included)!

I love your tag, the texture that you created on the wings is amazing! And the color is beautiful, did you ink before or after you embossed it? And even though you think the embossing took away from the music print, I think the black notes in the music paper make really interesting highlights!

Thanks for sharing Christie!

Hello Christie, this is gorgeous! I just purchased the wing die last night online. I was kinda up in the air about it, but now that I have seen what you have done with them I am sooo glad I ordered it and am excited about the possibilities! TFS and inspiring. Your work is truly amazing:)
