My Paper Storage System

I had a request for information on how I handle my paper scraps and how I store my paper. Well, I recently revamped my paper storage closet and am proud to show you my new and improved paper storage. I am a bit of a self proclaimed "paper whore". Probably because I spent so many years in fashion design and my love for fabric still runs through my blood and paper is very similar to fabric in so many ways. I love almost all paper...patterned, textured, solid... you name it. If it doesn't appeal to me I transform it into something that is new and beautiful. You can do just about anything with paper. Enjoy the video!

This system has made it so easy for me to find any color or pattern I am looking for. I can use all of the left over scraps when making cards or for embellishment without having to sift through a giant box of unsorted scraps looking for the right color.

P.S. I apologize in advance for the lighting (it's not horrible but it's not the best)it is videotaped mostly in my hallway and the lighting isn't great.

Wow, I wish I had as much space for my paper as you have - but even then, I probably weren´t that organized! Interesting video, thank you!

I am a "paper whore" too. I had to find a way to organize mine too when i moved into my new room. My husband bought me some of the slated wall boards that you see at the scrapbooks stores (one of my local ones was going out of business and was selling everything) along with the 12x12 acrylic paper holders. So we cut the 8 foot section down an made a couple smaller ones (so they fit in my room better). I have all my solid paper sorted by color and then the pattern by Stripes; flowers; ect. All my scraps are in a 4 pull out drawers (need to get more) I have each color in a bag and the pattern paper in that color group in a bag and i have 4 colors per drawer. I love it. It is all so organized and right at my fingertips.

Wow do you want to come and do my room? You are so super organized. I have a little room that is "L" shaped and has my hot water tank and furnace in it. I too am a paper whore and a fabric whore. Loved this video. I have a file cabinet for my paper in the family room that works great for my 8 1/2 x 11 but no so great for my 12 x 12. Thanks for sharing your storage ideas.

I know this is the wrong post, but wanted to thank you for the tutorial on getting all the little pieces of paper off the mat that I saw on Fantabulous Cricut. Thanks!

You are the best. Thank you for sharing all of your great tips. I learn so much from your site; organization and great craft ideas.
Again, thank you so much.

Wow this is crazy good You did a great job, you can see all of the colors at a glance. I'm envious because I am crammed into the corner of the spare bedroom so I am always digging through the stack and I only ever make it so far into the pile.

That looks amazing! I'm afraid my husband would have a heart attack if I had that much paper. We're just beginning with our Cricut and I'm supposed to take it slow...

I love it. I love being organized, but it's so hard when all you have to work with is a China cabinet as a scrapbook storage facility LOL. I still got at least 7 totes of scrapbooking stuff and no-where to put it all. I've been working on my stuff I think about 9 hours. And still have at least 6-20 more to go.

wow... that is a lot of pairs of shoes.... love it!!!! oh and the paper storage too... LOL!!!

wonderful storage idea..unfortunately much too costly for my meager budget! Those cropper hopper storage holders are 24.99 @ Michaels...even at 50 % off...no way for me..and if they are on sale you can't use a coupon...I love how you have an unlimited budget tho and share so much loveliness! way to go!

Love your paper storage! I am taking over our home office for my scrapbook/sewing room. It isn't as large as your room. I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out what I want to do. Of course, cost is an issue, but I can spend some money. I have some cropper hopper storage for my paper, but what is it that you have your cropper hoppers in? They seem to fit perfectly.
Love your room and all your videos. Thanks for sharing!

You have a lot of papers there, Christine! Though it’s really a bunch of papers, you managed to prevent a pile of eyesores. I can see that you also stored important documents properly and I hope you consider shredding those that are not really needed to have less clutter. It’s better to have an organized and clean cabinet, isn’t it? :)

I have gotten so many great ideas from you. I spend more time trying to get organized than I do actually creating. LOL! You have inspired me to do better.
