70th Birthday Red Velvet Cupcakes

These gorgeous cupcakes were made from the new lite cartridges. I used the Cupcake Wrappers cartridge in the leaf3 pattern at 2". I also cut the black scallop 70 part of the topper out of same cartridge. The Storybook cartridge was the font I chose for the 70 I cut on the topper. I was able to do that using the Design Studio software. I cut the black circle out of the George and Basic Shapes to give more contrast between the picture of my Aunt in her younger years when she was a model and the green card stock. I cut the larger green part of the topper out of the EK success punch. I then just simply ran the pieces through my Xyron sticker maker and assembled them together to make custom cupcakes. Yummy Red Velvet Cupcakes!!!

  3. Hello Christie,

normally I don't mind that I don't have a cricut machine. It's quite expensive and as I'm not a scrapbooker I don't really would use it that much, BUT.... making these beautiful cupcakes with it !!!! that's a temptation :)

You also have a beautiful standard to put the cakes in or is this in fact a candle stand ?
    greetings from belgium

  4. Hi Christie! I LOVE YOUR BLOG!

How do you know the correct size to cut the cupcake wrappers? Not all cupcakes are the same size and I wondered how I can determine the cut size. Trial and error? Thanks for sharing with us!

  14. I cut these at 2" I think it may be a bit of trial and error with sizes of others. It was the height that it took into concideration, not the width. Yes, that is a cupcake stand. It was bought at Michaels. :)
