I made this tag for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #12. I inked the background with Distress Stormy Sky and Frayed Burlap. I then stamped the face image from Nicole Croy. I masked it off before stamping the Tim Holtz royal script from Stampers Anonymous. I cut the wings out of metal with the new Cuttlebug Vintage Collage Embossing Plus folder. I inked them and then embossed them with the distress embossing powder. I also used Tim's bird and leaf ( I only distressed the leaf). The "Soar" was a Tim Holtz ticket I inked and placed behind his beautiful metal holder. I used some Diamond Glaze over the top to give it a shiny finish. When it was dry I bent it a little to crack it to distress it a bit.
FABULOUS tag, Christie!!

ReplyDeleteThat's simply gorgeous, Christie! I adore the colour and how all the design elements come together.
ReplyDeleteWow, Christie, this is sensational! Those colors are gorgeous, and the way you inked the tag makes it look like it's lit from within. It's a beautiful effect! The stamping is great, and the chipped enamel looks fabulous. And boy, do those wings ever ROCK, and they work perfectly with the Ornate Plate. I love this!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! No wonder your hubby decided to take it! (And what a compliment THAT is!) Those wings are just wonderful. TFS!
ReplyDeleteChristie~ Your tags are great!! I was very impressed with your use of techniques and color. I think Tim's Compendium book is by far one of, if not my favorite craft book. You are the one who actually started my obsession with Tims products... Thank You! I also love adding alcohol inks to anything I can find. I actually bought some non porous flourish puffy looking stickers so that I could play with them and my inks. I wanted to tell you about them but I cant remember the name. You can however view them in the original white form cause I used them on a wedding scrapbook that I posted on my blog at http://scrappingwithsherry1.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to add that I have been gone for a few weeks ill but am sure glad to see that you are still here crafting and sharing with us!
