Totally Grunge Tag

I made this tag for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge week 8. The challenge was Grungeboard and Grungepaper. Well I challenged myself a little more. I did this entire tag using only grunge, ink and glue. NO PAPER of any other kind. Even my ribbons are made from grunge. I cut long, thin 12" strips of grunge paper, inked them. I then ran all of them but one through the hole in my tag and then used the one remaining to tie a band around all of them and knotted in the back. I made my tag from grunge, the flowers were cut from the 3D flower die from Sizzix cut on my Cuttlebug and then inked with Distress inks. The Enjoy the Journey Tim Holtz stamp was stamped on grunge and then inked and attached to the grunge tag. The flourishes are from the grungeboard set... love them I inked them in two shades of green.

  4. Hello Christie,

Wow, your tag turned out beautifully !

Using everything in grunge and inking it gives it a special shade of color, colorful, but muted, no flat colors, but dimensional.

I like the different colors you used : the colors of the flowers contrast perfectly with the colors of the background and the swirls.

The strips are really fun : I would never thought of using grungepaper for something like this.

This is a tag I wished I had made :)

    greetings from belgium

  7. Great Job! Thank you for coming by my blog and becoming my newest follower. I really appreciate the support! Did you use any perfect pearls spray or just the distressed inks on the flowers? If you just used the distress inks, what colors did you use? They are gorgeous... Well, anything Tim makes is gorgeous! I think I have a crush!!! LOL!!

I am having a giveaway on my blog. It started today and ends on Monday... Lots of Tim Holtz stuff of course!

    Take Care~ Sherry

  15. Christie, this is absolutely BRILLIANT! What a great way to challenge yourself, using ONLY grunge, and you made a masterpiece with it!

There's so much here to love, from the beautiful colors to the cool, textured background to the perfect flowers and flourishes to those ingenious ribbons. What a great idea to cut those tiny strips-- a lot of work, I'm sure, but the effect is awesome! Bravo!
