So even though my kids are older now. They are well out of school I still check out the back to school sales. Today I hit Office Depot and spent a whopping 18 cents (that's including tax)!!! I got 3 - 70 sheet notebooks and 3 - 100 sheet loose leaf paper ! I use these all the time to use for really easy clean up when I'm painting, gluing, inking, etc. If you use both sides that's over 1,000 uses for 18 cents! So don't forget about other uses for things when going through that Sunday paper.
I still have school aged kids so I am always buying these things on sale. Thanks for the idea though on how I could use them.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great bargains! I also left you an award over at my blog at lilcabininthewoods.blogspot.com. Stop by and grab it if you'd like.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a bargain. Well done. Wish we could get bargains like that here in New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteThat's the only thing I love about back to school - I get to take over and buy all sorts of stuff at great prices! Maybe that's the reward for spending gobs of money on everything else related to back to school??
ReplyDeleteAlso, re-read the last sentence in your post. "So don't think about other uses for things when going through that Sunday paper. " I think you forgot a word...I think you meant "So don't FORGET to think about other uses...". lol xx
I love the back to school sales. I usually end up buying not only for my kids but for me too. Although I think we have plenty of pencils; pens; notebooks and such. Even though I end up with left overs from the year before and I know we don't need them I can never pass up a great sale. LOL
ReplyDeleteI also love the office supply store sales! So much potential for such a small amount of money! I also love the packing material they use with some online orders. We just got a box filled with paper packing that is perforated kraft paper and I flatten it and save it for all those messy projects I do!!
ReplyDeleteWow, did you find a bargain!!! I love to shop office supply stores! I also re-use packaging paper, from online orders, for painting and gluing and other messy stuff. It can be hard to flatten out. Notebook paper sounds easier! Way to go, Christie! Thrifty is good!
ReplyDeleteWow - you did good. I, too, love to shop for "school supplies" this time of year, but we've never had deals like this...a few years ago I stocked up on RoseArt Crayons for 5 cents a box (bought 20), took all the whites out for me (to use for resist) and donated the rest to a friend who has a preschool; last year I think I had to pay 50 cents for the Crayola brand - again - not bad. Also picked up some great decorative folders to use for punching this year. Colored pens, crimped borders for display borders, etc. Other than the folders, haven't found anything this year...
ReplyDeleteWow you really did good. I am going to have to go shopping today. My latest good deal was at Ms. They have adhesive backed felt for 49 cents. I've read you can cut it with you cricut so I'm going to try it.
ReplyDeleteGood job lady!!
ReplyDeleteI use all the catalogs that are sent to me. I get at least one a week. I use them for catching glue, ink, paint, and etc..... free!
